Yes, if they meet a category's conditions; the official pages we read set no India-only route. For salaried professionals, ICP and GDRFA Dubai require a valid UAE work permit, a bachelor's degree, MOHRE occupational level 1 or 2 and a monthly salary of at least AED 30,000. Property investors need AED 2 million. ICP has denied claims of lifetime Golden Visas sold through consultancies.
Can Indians get a UAE Golden Visa, and what salary is needed?
Yes, if they meet a category's conditions; the official pages we read set no India-only route. For salaried professionals, ICP and GDRFA Dubai require a valid UAE work permit, a bachelor's degree, MOHRE occupational level 1 or 2 and a monthly salary of at least AED 30,000. Property investors need AED 2 million. ICP has denied claims of lifetime Golden Visas sold through consultancies.
The Golden Visa (ICP calls it Golden Residency) is a long-term UAE residence permit that does not need a sponsor. As shown by ICP's Golden Residency Guide in October 2026 (page last updated September 10, 2026), it lets eligible people and their families live, work, study and invest in the UAE for ten years. None of the official pages we read has a separate route, quota or price for Indian nationals. Indians qualify the same way as anyone else: by meeting the conditions of one category.
For most Indian job seekers the important point is this: the salaried professional route is for people who already work in the UAE. GDRFA Dubai requires a valid UAE work permit under a valid employment contract. It is a reward for a high-paying UAE job, not a way to get one. If you are still looking for work, start with our Dubai and UAE work visa guide or the UAE job seeker visa.
The table below summarises the main conditions as shown by ICP and GDRFA Dubai in October 2026. Each category has more detail on the official pages, so confirm on the official page before you apply.
| Category | Main conditions (official pages) | Duration (ICP guide) |
|---|---|---|
| Skilled professionals (salaried) | Valid UAE work permit and employment contract; MOHRE occupational level 1 or 2; at least a bachelor's degree; monthly salary of at least AED 30,000; health insurance for you and your family | 10 years |
| Real estate investors | One or more UAE properties worth at least AED 2,000,000 in total, or off-plan units of that value bought from an approved local developer; a loan from an approved local bank is allowed; health insurance | 10 years |
| Public investment investors | AED 2,000,000 deposit with an investment fund or national bank, or a company or partnership share of at least AED 2,000,000, or at least AED 250,000 a year in federal taxes; capital must not come from a loan | 10 years |
| Entrepreneurs | A UAE-registered SME in an approved field with annual revenue of at least AED 1,000,000, or an approved business idea from an accredited incubator or authority, or past ventures sold for at least AED 7,000,000 | 10 years |
| Outstanding students and graduates | UAE school leavers with at least 95 percent; graduates of a top-100 world university with a GPA of at least 3.5, within two years of graduating; UAE university graduates under Category A or B rules | 10 years |
| Healthcare, education and industry specialists, scientists | Recommendation or nomination letter from the relevant UAE ministry or council, plus ICP approval | 10 years |
| Frontline workers (first line of defence) | Listed by ICP as a category; the pages we read do not set out its conditions | 10 years |
| Humanitarian pioneers | At least five years with an international, regional or non-profit organisation, or contributions of at least AED 2,000,000; a university degree | 10 years |
This is the route most searches for golden visa eligibility salary are about. As shown by GDRFA Dubai's service page for specialised professionals in October 2026, you must hold a UAE work permit under a valid employment contract, be a skilled worker at the first or second professional level of MOHRE's occupational classification, hold at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent, and earn no less than AED 30,000 a month. Professions that need a licence, such as physician, pharmacist or teacher, need a valid licence too. ICP's guide describes the same group as chairpersons and chief executives at occupational level one and specialists at occupational level two.
One detail matters for Indian degrees. GDRFA asks applicants from universities outside the UAE for a report from the UAE Ministry of Education recognising the qualification. Plan for this before you apply.
The salary must stay above the line. GDRFA says that if the salary falls below AED 30,000 or the contract is cancelled, the Golden Residence Permit will be cancelled. The page does not say how much of the AED 30,000 must be basic salary versus allowances, and its wording varies slightly (one line says approximately AED 30,000). Ask GDRFA or ICP how your salary certificate will be read.
As shown by GDRFA Dubai's golden residence service pages in October 2026 (investors, students and specialised professionals list the same figures), these are the listed charges. The page adds that the issuance fee increases by AED 100 for each year when the residency is over two years, so the residence permit fee for a 10-year permit will be higher than the base figure. GDRFA does not show the final total on the pages we read, and we have not found an official figure for the six-month entry visa or for Emirates ID, medical or insurance costs. Confirm the total on the official page or the payment screen.
| Item (GDRFA Dubai) | Amount |
|---|---|
| Residence permit fee (base) | AED 1,100, plus AED 100 for each year over two years |
| Knowledge Dirham | AED 10 |
| Innovation Dirham | AED 10 |
| Fee for applying inside the country | AED 500 |
| Delivery | AED 20 |
In July 2025 many Indian websites reported a new nomination-based lifetime Golden Visa for Indians costing about AED 100,000 (around Rs 23 lakh) with no property or business investment. Some pages still repeat it.
On 8 July 2025, the UAE's official news agency WAM published ICP's response. ICP denied the accuracy of rumours about the UAE granting lifetime Golden Visas to certain nationalities. It said the categories and conditions are defined by official laws and ministerial decisions, that all applications are handled exclusively through official government channels in the UAE, and that no internal or external consultancy is recognised as an authorised party in the process. It said claims from a consultancy based in another country, that lifetime visas could be obtained from outside the UAE through commercial entities under simplified conditions, have no legal basis and were made without coordination with the UAE authorities. It warned of legal action against those trying to collect money this way.
The ICP statement as published by WAM does not name India or mention AED 100,000; those details came from the media reports it was responding to. What it does say is enough: do not pay any agent or consultancy for a nomination or a lifetime Golden Visa. ICP urged people not to pay fees or submit personal documents to anyone claiming to provide these services, and to check with ICP's website or its 24/7 call centre on 600522222 first.
The Ministry of External Affairs says people with ECR-endorsed passports going to any of the 17 ECR countries to take up employment need emigration clearance, and the UAE is one of them. The MEA page we read does not discuss Golden Visas. If you hold an ECR passport and are moving to the UAE for a job, check emigration clearance with the Protector of Emigrants before you travel, whatever residence type you will hold.

For the skilled professional route, ICP and GDRFA Dubai list a monthly salary of at least AED 30,000, along with a valid UAE work permit, a bachelor's degree and MOHRE occupational level 1 or 2.
Yes, through non-investment categories such as skilled professionals, outstanding graduates, specialists with a ministry nomination or humanitarian pioneers, if you meet the conditions. There is no official fee-based nomination route sold through agents.
No official page we read offers one. On 8 July 2025 ICP, via WAM, denied rumours of lifetime Golden Visas for certain nationalities and said no consultancy is an authorised party in the process.
GDRFA Dubai lists a AED 1,100 residence permit fee, rising by AED 100 for each year over two years, plus AED 10 Knowledge Dirham, AED 10 Innovation Dirham, AED 500 if applying inside the UAE and AED 20 delivery. Other costs such as insurance are extra.
Not under the salaried route, which needs a valid UAE work permit. For other categories, ICP says eligible applicants outside the UAE get a six-month multiple-entry entry visa to complete the process. GDRFA Dubai says student approvals need a Dubai residency file.
ICP says Golden Residency holders can sponsor spouses, children regardless of age, and parents. GDRFA sets narrower rules for student golden permits.
ICP's Golden Residency Guide and GDRFA's service pages say 10 years. The u.ae summary still shows 5 years for some categories, so check the duration on your application.
ICP says the property may be financed through a loan from an approved local bank, and GDRFA says mortgaged property is acceptable. GDRFA also requires a lien so ownership continues through the residency.
GDRFA Dubai says the Golden Residence Permit will be cancelled if the salary falls below AED 30,000 or the employment contract is cancelled.
