The UAE job seeker visa is a visit visa of 60, 90 or 120 days that lets eligible foreigners look for work without a host or sponsor, according to u.ae. You must be at MOHRE skill level 1 to 3 or a recent top-500-university graduate, hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent, and meet the financial guarantee. It is a search visa, not a work permit.
How does an Indian get a UAE job seeker visa?
The UAE job seeker visa is a visit visa of 60, 90 or 120 days that lets eligible foreigners look for work without a host or sponsor, according to u.ae. You must be at MOHRE skill level 1 to 3 or a recent top-500-university graduate, hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent, and meet the financial guarantee. It is a search visa, not a work permit.
The UAE government portal (u.ae) describes the jobseeker visit visa as a visa that lets a foreigner search for a job in the UAE, "without requiring a host/sponsor in the country, for one trip". As shown by u.ae in October 2026, it can be issued for 60, 90 or 120 days, and the page was marked as updated on 28 Sep 2026.
The Dubai immigration authority (GDRFA Dubai) describes the same service as a visit visa to explore job opportunities, "without requiring a host or guarantor within the country". It says the service is typically completed within 48 hours. The two pages word one detail differently: u.ae says one trip, GDRFA says one or more visits. Confirm which applies to you on the application screen.
As shown by u.ae in October 2026, you must meet all three conditions. First, you are either at the first, second or third skill level under the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) professional levels of jobs, or you graduated from one of "the best 500 universities in the world" under the Ministry of Education's approved classification within the last 2 years. Second, you hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Third, you meet the prescribed financial guarantee.
The u.ae page does not list the skill levels, the universities or the classification, and it points to the Executive Regulation of Law No. 29 of 2021 on Entry and Residence of Foreigners. Neither page we read gives a list of qualifying occupations. Do not rely on a consultancy's list of levels or universities without checking the official source, because we found pages that disagree with each other on the number and wording of skill levels. GDRFA Dubai words the conditions as a skilled worker at the first to third level and a graduate of a top-500 university, with a bachelor's degree or equivalent as the minimum education. Ask GDRFA or the application screen whether you need to satisfy both or either.
As shown by GDRFA Dubai in October 2026, these are the listed amounts. VAT of 5 percent is added to the visa fee. The page says the total may vary with the circumstances of the person being sponsored. The u.ae page does not state fees at all.
| Item (GDRFA Dubai) | Amount |
|---|---|
| 60-day visit visa | AED 200 |
| 90-day visit visa | AED 300 |
| 120-day visit visa | AED 400 |
| Security amount (financial guarantee) | AED 1,000 |
| Warranty service fee | AED 20 |
| Collection and return of guarantee | AED 40 |
| If applying from inside the UAE: Knowledge Dirham and Innovation Dirham | AED 10 each |
| If applying from inside the UAE: inside-the-country application fee | AED 500 |
The visa is for searching for a job. The two pages we read do not state a rule about working while on it, and they do not describe converting it into an employment visa or extending it, other than GDRFA listing a related service called extending a visit visa to explore job opportunities. We therefore will not state a penalty or a conversion procedure that the official pages do not give.
What we can say from the UAE government's own description of work visas is that the employer leads: it gets the work permit from MOHRE and the work entry permit, as set out in our Dubai and UAE work visa guide. Do not start work, even unpaid trial work, until your employer has confirmed in writing that the permit process is complete. Ask the employer whether the permit will be issued while you are in the UAE or whether you must leave and re-enter, and how long your remaining search days allow.
The official pages give fees and a guarantee, but no figures for rent, food, transport or insurance, and we have not fetched an official source for them, so we do not quote any. Work out your own budget for the full visa period, including the guarantee that is locked up while you are in the UAE, and keep money for a return ticket.
A job seeker visa does not guarantee an interview or an offer. Hiring depends on the employer, your field and the market. Read our guide to finding legitimate jobs in Dubai before you spend money on the trip, and consider applying for roles from India first, through current openings or by submitting your CV.
The Ministry of External Affairs says people with ECR endorsed passports going to any of the 17 ECR countries for employment need emigration clearance. The UAE is one of those countries, as set out in our ECR passport guide. The MEA page we read does not discuss visit visas, so we cannot tell you from an official source how clearance works for someone who finds a job while on a search visa. Our ECR guide summarises that travel not for employment does not need clearance, but once you hold an offer, check the eMigrate process with the Protector of Emigrants or the Indian mission before you take up work.

No. u.ae and GDRFA describe it as a visit visa for searching for a job. Employment needs an employer-led work permit and entry process.
As shown by u.ae in October 2026, it can be issued for 60, 90 or 120 days. The visa types are listed separately by ICP as single-entry visas.
GDRFA Dubai lists AED 200, 300 or 400 for 60, 90 or 120 days plus 5 percent VAT, and a AED 1,000 security amount with small service fees. The total may vary, so confirm on the official page.
No. u.ae says the visa is granted without requiring a host or sponsor in the country, and GDRFA says without a host or guarantor. You must still meet the financial guarantee.
u.ae says you need a bachelor's degree or equivalent, the financial guarantee, and either MOHRE skill level 1 to 3 or a top-500-university degree earned within 2 years. Nationality-specific rules are not stated on the pages we read.
The pages we read do not state a rule, so do not assume it is allowed. The visa is for searching, and the employer should complete the work permit process before you start.
MEA says ECR passport holders going to an ECR country for employment need clearance, and the UAE is on the list. The MEA page does not address visit visas, so ask the Protector of Emigrants about your case.
The official pages we read do not describe the process. In UAE practice the employer applies for the work permit, so ask the employer how it will be handled and confirm with GDRFA.
